It’s time for ghouls and ghosties, monsters and mayhem! Halloween is a night for fun in the scariest and most spook-tacular way. As you are getting ready to light up the night for your Halloween night festivities, please keep in mind the following important safety tips:
1. Never leave a burning candle unattended! Extinguish all jack-o-lanterns or other spooky candles before leaving your house or going to bed for the evening.
2. Make sure candle holders don’t tip over! Whether using pumpkins, gourds, or luminary bags, make sure the bottom of the holder is heavy enough to withstand the howling winds and bone-chilling breezes.
3. Keep away from flammable objects! Pretty landscape décor such as cornstalks and mums can ignite easily so keep a safe distance within your display. Also, illuminate a wide path for trick-or-treaters, remembering that they often wear capes, wigs, and other flowing flammable costumes.
